• Question: Does your job affect your home life?

      Mmmm, it can do yes. But, if you enjoy your job then it’s not always affected in a bad way.

      For example, if you’re thinking of research questions and tests, then that’s sometimes like a hobby, so it’s not such a bad thing.

      If you’re doing something like marking student work for the degree course, then that’s just something that’s required, and you enjoy your job so it’s worthwhile (and it means a lot to the students of course).

      I have friends in many different professions, and most of them take some work home with them (so I can’t complain :-))

      Mine doesn’t at the moment but when I was doing my PhD, I had to work late or take work home. So my time with family was reduced.
