  By amputated I assume you mean cut off one of its legs? If so then no I haven’t. When using rats I have to be very careful and make sure that they feel no pain. When I remove the heart the rat is dead and no longer feels anything. Other scientists in my building might use other parts of the animal such as its leg muscles; someone even wanted to use the poo that was in the rat’s intestines – that really disgusted me!

  No I don’t do experements on animals just humans. My university will not let me amputate one of the students……Yet!!!!!
