I think it is unclear about the long term effects of most performancing enhancing drugs except for steroids. lLng term steroid abuse can causes a number of health related issues. And in relation to the brain, they can effect how your brain makes you feel. This can be both in the short term (aggression) and long term (depression). These long term brain related effect maybe even worse if you start taking steroids in your teenage years.

Another recent issue is athletes taking brain sepsific performance enhancing drugs such as those aimed at improving concentration and attention. Unfortunatly, these drugs are meant for people with illnesses not to enhance athletic performance. The long term effects of these drugs may become apparant years down the line!!!
