This is a deep philosophical question. Some would say it all happened by chance, just a coming together of random events, so the purpose is what you make of the life you have. Others would say we were created as an expression of love and that we are here to love and look after each other. I don’t think science could answer this question.

I disagree. I think that science could can answer the question of how the universe and earth came to be and if it is solidly confirmed that it is by chance then the creation “theory” will be rejected. the purpose of living is what ever you want it to be that is the beauty.

I have to agree with Justin. Science can explain everything that has happened up to this point. Apart from how did the Big Bang start (where did the dark matter come from).

But apart from that I believe life has been a series of events and evolution. Each organism whether human or bacteria has a purpose to them surviving.

So in my opinion, the purpose of life, is to live it and enjoy it.
