  I’m not sure you could actually survive with just half a brain. This is because different areas of the brain perform life critical functions, so if you happened to lose that part, then your body would simply shut down. Also, your left and right sides of the brain have to often work together to perform certain tasks, so losing half would be disastrous.
  
  The brain isn’t my speciality (my wife just laughed when she read that, and said “too true” :-)), but it’d be something I’d love to work with in the future. Scientists say it’s one of the great frontiers of science, because we have so much to learn about it.
