Very good question. Unfortunately not, your lungs and chest are designed to get oxygen from the air. The main problem with breathing liquid is your chest muscles which are essential for getting air in and out of your lungs. Your chest muscles are not strong enough to push liquid out of your lungs. Research has been done with using liquids to assist breathing but they had to use a machine to move the liquid in and out of the lungs.
