Your a born with muscles and they develop over time. However, if you are asking how do you get bigger muscles then you need to lift heavy things. Your body will try and adapt to most situations you put it through. So, if you lift something heavy, say a wight you can only just about lift 6-8 times slowly then your muscles will try and adapt to make lifting that weight easier next time. One way your muscles do this is by increasing the cross-sectional area (size) of the muscle. More muscle more strength. Once you have lifted this weight many times over a few weeks you will find it becomes easier. You now need to go and find a heavier weight and start lifting it, again your muscles will get bigger to compensate. You can pretty much train every muscle in your body even your heart which is an awesome muscles. Ok you don’t want to lift weights with your heart but doing exercise does put it under stress and it will make changes to make exercise easier next time.

If you start playing football everyday your body will tell your leg muscles they need to get stronger, so that you can run faster and play football for longer. So over a short amount of time your muscles will start to create new cells and get bigger and stronger.

This works for all muscles in the body, if you start using them more then they will start becoming stronger and sometimes bigger.
