      Hello. Sorry for the slight delay in getting back to you.

      The chemicals you inhale when smoking causes you lung tissue to be become less effective at bringing in oxygen, and releasing carbon dioxide.

      Also, the chemicals in cigarettes can affect how your DNA is used to build new cells (which is required all the time). This is how cancer starts, if things don’t work properly when new cells are formed. New cells are formed constantly, not just when you’re growing.
