Question: im really intreseted in science! what is your favourite experament?

I’m happy you’re interested in science – considered becoming a scientist when you’re older?
I work on the heart and look at how it beats. My favourite experiment was doing exactly that. Where I remove the heart and place it in a liquid that feeds it and this causes it to beat even when its not in the animal! I have a video of this on my profile you can look at this under “My work” – its really interesting (well I think so at least). I then study the heart while it is beating and look how it changes when I add certain chemicals.

i dont mind being a scientist. i just hate blood, needles, bacteria……

Yeah some dislike blood, others don’t mind it. I find I have to have a strong stomach when dealing with it. But I enjoy working with the heart so much that it’s worth the disgusting part.
I liked chemistry when I was at school too, but I just wasn’t as interested as I was in biology. Chemistry is really good though and very useful in industry etc.
If you want to look at a bit of both, Biochemistry is a subject you can take further at University. This looks at the chemistry that goes on inside humans and other organisms.
