      I deal with the heart as a whole piece of tissue. I look at how it works and what causes it to beat.

      Once I’ve looked at how fast it beats I think can look at what happens within the cells of that piece of tissue.

      So with the cells of the heart I do a few experiments. One is to look for the different types of protein present in the cell – these proteins allow the cell to do certain things, like beat. The other part is to look at the location of these proteins and see whereabouts in the cell they are.
