      Hello.

You have blood vessels (arteries) that deliver blood to your heart, because it is a working muscle.

Sometimes, those vessels can become blocked and blood delivery stops. When this happens, the normal contraction of the heart will stop, and can result in some heart cells dying.

This process of blood delivery stopping, and contraction stopping, is what happens during a heart attack.
